Lloyd Scott
Lloyd Scott, MBE (born 13 October 1961 in Rainham, London) is an English former professional football goalkeeper and now charity fundraiser, best known in the UK for his charity marathons. He is notable for competing in the 2002 London Marathon in a deep-sea diving costume during which he broke the world record for slowest marathon time. The diving suit he wore is now on display at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich, London. The number he wore is still attached to the suit on display.
After surviving leukaemia, Scott has raised more than £4 million for cancer charities, such as Children with Leukemia, through what he calls "alternative charity fundraising events", including the following:

- Everest Marathon, in 1993;
- Marathon des Sables, in 1996;
- Walked to the South Pole, in 1996:
- 135-mile (217 km) Death Valley Ultra marathon, in 1998;
- Walked to the North Pole, in 1999;
- The 2002 Flora London Marathon wearing a 110-pound (50 kg) deep-sea diving suit;
- The 2002 New York Marathon wearing the same suit;
- Setting a world record for the slowest marathon time, again wearing a deep-sea diving suit, at the 2002 Edinburgh Marathon with a time of six days, four hours, 30 minutes and 56 seconds;
- The first underwater marathon, walking a 26-mile (42 km) stretch of the bottom of Loch Ness, Scotland, in 2003;
- The John O' Groats to Land's End swim, in 2004, where he "swam" from John o' Groats to Land's End in a water tank on the back of a lorry;
- Completed the 2006 London Marathon, which fell on St George's Day that year, wearing a suit of armour and dragging a 300-pound (140 kg) dragon. He completed the course in a time of eight days and 13 minutes, raising 1.8 million pounds and breaking the world record for individual charity fundraising.
- Drove a Mini with flat tyres from Land's End to John o' Groats on 8 May 2006.
- On Sunday 22 April 2007, Scott participated in the 2007 London Marathon, dressed as Indiana Jones, the main character of the 1981 adventure film Raiders of the Lost Ark and dragging a 300-pound (140 kg) replica boulder, re-enacting the opening scenes of the film.
- In 2007 Scott visited Australia where he travelled 2,700 miles (4,300 km) from Perth to Sydney on a penny farthing while dressed as Sherlock Holmes (including deerstalker hat, tweed jacket and moustache).
- Scott participated in the 2008 London Marathon, dressed as the title character from the film The Iron Giant. He finished the course on Friday 18 April 2008.
- Completed the 2009 Flora London Marathon with a replica Yellow Submarine accompanied by three other runners (including GMTV newsreader Priya Kaur-Jones) all dressed as The Beatles, in aid of The Children's Trust, Tadworth.
- Between July and August 2009 he walked from Land's End to John o' Groats with a Tyrannosaurus following him stopping in several points along the way raising money for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
- Completing the London Marathon 26 days late dressed as Brian the snail from The Magic Roundabout, to raise child disability awareness.
- Lloyd is a Pro Dono Ambassador
Scott has been injured during some of his events. For example, he injured his shoulder during the underwater marathon when he fell off a 15-foot (4.6 m) ledge while in the loch. After being awarded an MBE in 2005, Scott joked that the award should stand for "Mad, Bonkers and Eccentric".
